A detailed view of biometric device

A biometric device is an authentication device and this device uses automated methods for recognizing and verifying the identity of a person by a behavioural or physiological characteristic and the characteristics will include iris, voice recognition, facial images and fingerprints. The biometric device is used by man for more than a long period of time and the FBI which is the acronym of the Federal Bureau of Investigation used the biometric device for checking the fingerprints for maintaining the criminal record in the 1960s and this automated biometric device is used since 500 BC.

The common subgroups of biometric devices

The biometric devices are divided into subgroups based on the characteristics of the human body for accessing the information of the users. The biometric device price will get varied based on the use, quality, and so on. The following are the subgroups of the biometric devices based on the human body characteristics: chemical biometric devices, auditory biometric devices, olfactory biometric devices, behavioural biometric devices, and visual biometric devices. The chemical biometric devices are used for analyzing the segments of the DNA for granting access to the users.

The visual biometric devices are used for analyzing the human’s visual features for granting the access and this also includes retina recognition, finger recognition, face recognition, and iris recognition. The behavioural biometric devices are used for analyzing the signatures and the walking ability where the signatures will include the velocity of the sign, the pressure of the sign, and the width of the sign.

The olfactory biometric devices are used for analyzing the odor for distinguishing between the varied users. The auditory biometric devices are used for analyzing the voice for determining the identity of the speaker for accessing the control.

The common uses of the biometric devices

The biometric device in India is used for many purposes and the following are some of the common uses of the biometric devices immigration, workplace, personal devices, and handheld devices and so on. In mobile devices, the fingerprint sensors are found where this fingerprint sensor is used for unlocking the mobile device and can authorize the actions like file transfers, money transfers and mainly this is used for preventing the device from the use by another unauthorized person.

As there is a demand for air travel and more people are traveling so there is a need for security. And for this security purpose, biometric devices are implemented in many airports as they will enable the quick recognition of the passengers so that it will lead to the lower number of people standing in the queue for a longer time. In many international airports, there will be a plan for making the immigration counts as they will implement the IOM technology which is the acronym of the IRIS on the move technology which will help in taking the count of seamless arrivals and departures of the passengers in the airport. In many workplaces the biometrics are used for establishing the better accessible records of the employee work.
